University Events & Ceremonies

The Office of University Events & Ceremonies at York University works to advance the reputation of the University through strategic and coordinated stakeholder relations, special events, and visitor relations.

Our team manages York's institutional events, special projects, and annual convocation ceremonies. By way of these events, the Office cultivates and provides stewardship to York's primary constituents, including alumni, donors, faculty, staff, students, and the public.

York University hosts many exciting activities on its three campuses throughout the year. The Office of University Events & Ceremonies proudly supports and manages a range of annual events which bring our many diverse communities together.

In upwards of 100 events per year, these include award ceremonies, groundbreakings, building openings, galas, announcements, donor recognition events, and visits by dignitaries and heads of state. We also support outside events such as government announcements, and unique events like the 2017 Invictus Games and the 2015 Pan-American Games.

Some additional events include:

  • Convocation
  • Stewardship events
  • President's Staff Recognition Awards
  • President's Town Hall meetings
  • Remembrance Day Ceremony
  • Circle of Scholars
  • Book Launches
  • Sustainability Awards
  • York Orientation Day

In addition to managing events, we also provide guidance, protocol advice, and event logistical support for the President's Office, the Division of Advancement, faculties, and outside organizations hosted on any of our 3 campuses (i.e. Keele, Glendon, Markham).

If you are organizing a York University event, please share details of your event by completing the Event Information Form. Within 72 hours of completing this form, our Office will connect with you to discuss how/if we can provide assistance.
